I was searching for a story today on what to write about for the Wii and as I searched for an angle to jump out at me I was left wondering. There really is not all that much to write about when it comes to the Wii. If you did a search of the news for the Wii most of the links were to reviews for games or PR releases for games. Does not seem to be all that much going on from the Big N. In fact some of the reviews were talking about the upcoming Wii Music and it’s not sounding too promising for this next big release from Nintendo.
Honestly I am getting tired of all the poor game reviews for the Wii. I really have stopped looking for good games on the Wii, we seem to only turn it on now when family or friends come over so we can all play Sports. Other than that and an occasional rental the system just does not get a lot of playing time and that’s too bad. I love the Wii and the technology behind it I just wish they had put a little more gusto in the machine itself so it could pull off some of the really good games that are out there for the other systems.
That’s where the problem lies for all the gamers that bought into the Wii fan fare is now that all the excitement has died down and we see what games are coming to the Wii, the true gamers are left feeling abandoned. Here is the problem that Nintendo put themselves in with a system that is not next gen technology. All the games that are kicking it on the other systems can not be pulled off on the Wii so we get the dumbed down versions with features and levels missing just to say that they put a version of the game on the Wii. Even when a developer takes the time to do a Wii only game you can almost sense how much the developer wanted to do but couldn’t because of the limitations on the machine.
Oh well, here’s hoping that all the money Nintendo is making of this Wii will be forwarded onto a new machine that will have all the bells and whistles next time. Please share your opinions on that status of the Wii market. Is it all in my head am I just imagining this big void of games or what? Thanks for reading.
Even after all that I did see that the new Lego Batman has arrived! These games are always fun even on the Wii! But that’s what they are meant for their not pushing any great gaming boundaries with these games, they are cheesy fun that anyone can appreciate. Enjoy the trailer>>
